Hi. I'm trying to figure out the formula for Diamond SPI. The FAQ says "We calculate the SPI by the 3 top scores in each game. The high-score provides you x3 points, the second score x2, and the third x1. " But it seems that there must be something more to it. 1. Is it possible to have like 7 games with scores around 3 000 000 and 8 games lower, like level 12? 2. Is there any diamond ear member here that can recall how your scores looked like when you finally earned the medal?
Noam Gingold Aug 17, 2020 SPI is calculated by the 3 top scores in each game. The first score provides you x3 points, the second score x2, and the third x1. For each game, you will get higher game scores for higher levels, so when you pass levels you will get more points and your SPI will be higher. When you reach a very high level in a certain game, you will still earn more points for the next level, but the multiplier will be a bit smaller than before. If you continue to pass levels in this game the multiplier will keep getting smaller. At some point, it is wise to focus on reaching high levels on other games to get more SPI. The multiplier starts getting mildly smaller at level 21, and get a bit smaller with each level that you pass. This way we want to make it harder to get medals (Especially gold & diamond) based on only a few games that you are very good at.
I would add, keep focused on the daily workouts and improving your listening skills. The increases in SPI will follow. Honestly, when I hit Gold in April 2020, Diamond looked like an impossibility for me. I just kept up my training routine and hit diamond in July 😃
Thank you for the link. I haven't found out how to search for discussions yet.
The other things I've already know... but there has to be something more to it. For example: If I have 1300 000 points in all 45 top three top score slots... Does that really grant you the badge?
I think that if i sum up all my scores and divided them by 45 I would have a much higher SPI than I got.
Ya, defiantly more to it, it's not as simple as that. For example, passing level 37 on EQ Knight, increased my total SPI about 1500 points with my top 3 scores now at 10,944,000, 10,842,000, 10,184,000
it's a complex algorithm, so not that simple. what helped me is pushing level jumps until reached 800.000 then reach out to the games with lower levels, bump them up reasonably at around 1 million...
My topscore is 11.324.000 but with a wide span to my worst game score, Stereohead 128.640. I have 10 games over 1.300.000 though. But the remaing 5 is still quite low.
For fun i summed all top scores in 15 games. 36.223.900. If I divide that with 15 = 2.414.927
Too much time on my hands - I made a spreadsheet. I found Tuomas Nikkinen who posted his levels becoming diamond so I started to make a spread sheet to see where I'm at. In case someone is interested in how long the diamond road is. :) I still got 300k to go.
@Abbe Abbelito My Pan Girl was level 20 when posting. And erm.. still is 😅.
And to the topic, it seems the SPI increases fast up to about a few M, and then starts to slow down. So as stated earlier here, indeed seems it may be faster to get many games to the 1M+ range, instead of pushing a lot over 5M, if the other games are in the lower 100k's.
Ah, an error. Thank you @Tuomas Nikkinen ! Too bad that I suck at FE, KC, dBK, DC... :) At work I have better chance on Pan Girl and Stereo Head but at home those doesn't work either.
Update: I finally made it and the number 1! is the answer to my initial question. I first wanted to know how the SPI was calculated but I realised later that I just wanted a rough number on how far away I was from the goal.
And looking at the numbers on levels from 700k with some rounding of numbers. One can say that it takes roughly 1 level on every game to reach the next 100k. Problem solved, as far as I'm concerned. Anders
how long did it take most of you to get to diamond? im really struggling with these now that im in top 80's on most the games
