Hi all, I did not find much tips on REVERB WIZARD. I find this drill to be one of the hardest. I try to focus on pre-delay, early reflections, and late reflections, but I most of the time don't hear any difference between the three samples (sometimes the difference is very obvious as one sample has clear delays compared to the others). Any tips on this on?

This is actually one game I'm pretty good at (I'm Golden Ears so far) even though I have pretty severe upper mid and high hearing loss (as per Soundgym's Ear Doctor). On Reverb Wizard, I listen carefully to two things: 1) Reverb tail length, 2) Room early reflections. When I can't hear a difference between the reverb tail lengths, I listen to the room character (early reflections). I don't know why I'm good at this, maybe because I spent 5 years getting my tracking room good enough to record my grand piano. Hope this helps.

Hi, Bruno. To me, reverb is kind of like the room the instrument or performer is in. As weird as this sounds, I just listen to all three sounds and try and imagine what room(s) they're in and then pick out the one that sounds like they've switched rooms. I dunno - it works for me, anyways. :)

hello @Bruno Fruchard, for me this was impossible to get trough as well, I was stuck on 1st level and couldn't get further no matter how long I've spent listening to the sounds. Weird thing I've had was that my browser was stuck sometimes when loading audio files showing me a popup to either close or wait for the tab. I decided just as an experiment to switch to other browser (Chrome) and now the difference between samples is clear to me and I don't get this popup anymore. It seems as if in some browsers Soundgym loads the same sample for all three options and that is why it's impossible to differentiate between them. Not sure if this is your case, but maybe it's worth checking out

Hey Adam, thanks a lot for pointing that out! I completely forgot to mention this, but indeed I have the exact problem you are describing right now. I'll try with another web browser to see if that makes a difference, many thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for pointing that out Adam. I haven't had that issue, but it would drive me crazy. Lol. As for the exercise itself, I listen for how loud the reverb is, how long it takes for it to decay entirely, and what frequencies it's really highlighting. Sometimes the reverb will be much louder but much shorter and any other combination.

FYi, I tried again using Chrome and Adam is right, this was an issue with the browser, now the exercise is very simple (at least in low levels). So I was indeed hearing the same sample multiple times. Thanks again @Adam Urban.

Hey @Bruno Fruchard
You are, probably making the same mistake as many, trying to hear the longer' sounds and eliminate them.
The question Reverb Wizard asks is : - which sound is different?
Make sure you have complete silence when going with RW.
Sounds should be played at high volume to be able to feel any difference.
RW requires also a lot of calm and peace on your mind.
Use keyboard shortcuts to minimize the noise
QWE to listen
ASD to choose
Get in the Flow and feel the different sound, rather then listen to the tails.
Have patience, rome wasn't built in a day.
