I use Logic as my main DAW, but I'm trying to get an internship with a recording studio. Most commercial recording studios use ProTools, so I was curious, what is the best course/certification/way of learning have you found for pro tools?

I haven't compared any other Pro Tools courses, but I took Pro Tools 101 and 110 from Berklee Online during the pandemic. It was a fast and fun way to learn PT with the added benefit of being able to ask as many questions as I wanted during the live classes.

Hey Charles.
I too used logic (and Cubase) for my mixing at one point and I'm also currently in the process of trying to get a Runner or intern position at a studio. I made the switch to Protools about 2-4 months ago because that was the recommendation of someone working in the field. If you're able to find a YouTube course or anything free online.. The DAW is a DAW and it's similar to all the rest but with some helpful workflow features and plugin suites others don't quite have yet. Spend a few hours a day, if you have it and navigate section by section. You'll have it all down in a month or so. Avid Course certification from guys who graduated places like FullSail are running $750 and up.
But all that same info is free online.. All up to how you learn best.

Best of luck Charles

Charles, It is worth every penny to pay for and get trained by AVID Protools professionals. ProTools IS NOT like LOGIC, ABLETON, STUDIO ONE, CUBASE etc. It is a DAW. However, the comparison of functionality and flexibility would be like learning to drive a passenger car with all its cockpit/steering function and then assuming you can drive a formula one car with its cockpit/steering function (Not saying you're doing that). ProTools has a very steep learning curve for a reason! I paid for both PT101 and PT110 back in 2016 @ Wire Road Studios, Houston Texas. I got AVID User Certified in one week at the cost of $2400. I've been on Youtube referencing Protools videos and I can guarantee you that none of them are giving you the info you REALLY NEED to know. Furthermore, I own the books from those two courses, that I've marked up, made notes in, and used to create my own DAW shortcut binder. The other part to this, is that, you really do need a solid education in Audio Engineering, to know why you're turning that knob, sliding that fader, turning down the clip gain, etc. Hope this helps.
